Port motor, 200 hp.
Low rpm runs rough up to around 1600
Mid range runs fine.
WOT looses up to 400 rpm and then catches up to rpm of starboard, then drops again.
New plugs
New O2 sensor
New water fuel separators
Serviced regularly…
Thoughts??
Thank you

Chris, done everything but the injectors.
Thank you for helping out.
if you have cleaned the vst, and are still having the problem, its probably not dirty injectors.
you should install a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail, and run the motor to see if you are loosing fuel pressure.
its sounding more like an electrical issue.

I kind of thought electrical as well. I
Can turn the engine off and turn back on and it stops for a little bit.
It could be electrical and fuel.
the electric fuel pump could be failing which is why I would hook up a pressure gauge and run it.

also, something that’s easy…
pull the spark plugs out and inspect them.
does 1 look different than the rest

Thank you again. All the plugs look the same. Fuel pumps have been replaced.
Pul! The O2 sensor mount a access the
E double barbell looking piece. When u pull the cover off the O2 housing there is another mount. Remove this
S and find the barbell looking part. Check k for carbo. Buildup.
bucknfloat is 100% correct.
I didn’t even think to tell you to pull and clean the barbell between the O-2 sensor and the block.
I shouldn’t have, but I just assumed you did that when you changed the O-2 sensor.
as for fuel pumps, did you replace the mechanical lift pump and the HIGH pressure pump inside the VST?

Chris and bucknfloat, Thank you for the suggestions. Mechanical fuel pumps replaced only.
I’ll clean the barbell and see if that fixes it. May have to replace the high pressure pump.
Thanks again
