The motor goes one notch from hot on the digital meter when you run it over 3700rpms for an extended amount of time. I have changed the water impeller and it pees good. the water off of the stream is never hot.Are there 2 thermostats on the motor? I only see the one on the port side top of the motor. Any help would be appreciated Thanks
If you don’t have any alarms going off, it’s very possibly just the 90 degree water temperatures we are using to cool our engines right now.

Could be sand and other junk I behind the thermostat. Flush oh by removing the thermostat cover and thermostat and any springs that might be behind it and run the engine on the hose for a few minutes. If there’s anything in there it’ll come out. Don’t run it like that too long. Pit your thermostat back in and check it again at wot in the water. Have seen some like this on boats that were beached often.

Thanks for the replies. Its a 4stroke Chris. Was running a little on the warm side this past winter also. Changed the thermostat today and will get a chance to run it tomorrow.
there is only 1 thermostat
have you actually taken the temp of the motor or are you going just off teh gauge?
sometimes sending units go bad and i would hate to see you chase a ghost
Chris I changed the Thermostat and it still got hot on the meter. I felt the water coming out of the motor and it is about the temp of bath water. Hopefully it is just the sensor.I have not taken the actual temp yet. Thanks
