2006 Sea Pro SV2100CC bay UPDATE please help!

Skeg damage isn’t always bad. Depends on the amount of damage. Bent shaft usually is. I’m not sure if that’s one of those things that gets worse as you use it or what. ChrisV is the expert. Did the mechanic give you a quote to fix it?

I didn’t get a quote from the mechanic. That is the next step. I am going to find out what worst case scenario could be and negotiate off of that. The mechanic said it could be a nice boat with a little TLC, but there was clearly neglect, and that is what scares me. Any idea what a new lower unit costs for the 2006 Yamaha 150 4 stroke? Thanks again

600.00 to 1800.00 used vs new seems to be the norm after looking around the web.

Depends on the price if its worth it or not. Did you list the price??

If you are willing to spend a little more, you can probably find the exact same boat, brand new/leftover, with full warranty - but it will have the Trophy name on the side and a Merc 4 Stroke.

Last year I was looking at a leftover Trophy SV2100 loaded with a Merc 150 - brand new boat and trailer - exact same boat as the sea pro, with some improvments - 20k.

UPDATE again: Talked to the mechanic again this morning. He said that they could do a reconditioned lower unit for around 1250.0. I would much rather have it done down here, unless the seller wants to fix it himself up there. The mechanic also said that he wouldn’t be concerned with the other stuff. The compression was great, no codes, and hours were right on that motor. He said he wouldn’t hesitate to buy it, if that is negotiated into the price. Said the rest of the boat just needed to a good detail and that the hull was spotless otherwise. I am still torn! Major decider will be renegotiating, and what my friend says after the sea trial on Saturday. Still accepting any and all advice from fellow charlestonfishing.com friends! 7 years of poor maintenance/neglect is a deal breaker for me personally unless your absolutely stealing it. I had a sv2100 a few years back and wasn’t very impressed with it myself except it was quick with a 200 on it.
