I have an oil leak where the level sensor plugs into the onboard oil tank at about the 1/3rd tank level. Initial investigation online pointed to the bushings or seal at the sensor where it plugs into the tank failing, requiring replacement of the sensor. Now I’ve hearing that it can also be the tank wearing at the same place, requiring replacement of the oil tank.
Anybody deal with this yet? Which one should I go for first? I’m thinking the sensor as it’s an easier swap out?

you can buy a $150 sensor, or put a small clamp around it, just don’t over tighten.

Thanks for the pro-tip, literally! I’ll try that. I’m a first time poster but I’ve been a member since 2014 and following the site for 10+ years and have learned much about a lot of different things. This is another example of why this is a great website. Thanks Chris! R /

Agreed. I used a zip tie in lieu of a clamp on my old Scout w/ the 90 Yamaha on it. Worked like gangbusters. Zip ties have bailed me out on the boat more than once.
