I’m looking at a Sea Hunt ultra 232
Yamaha 250 with 230 hours, only once in salt water[per Owner]
anyone have this boat or can provide any input.
I have the 2004 (Triton 232) by Sea Hunt and love it. Hull should be the same or close. Does great with short trim tabs.Have put boat through a lot, and is solid. Motor is 200 HPDI (45 MPH)with two people and full tank. 250 4-stroke will be a little better in every way as far as performance. I will re-power with the 250 if the 200 ever quits. Buy the boat if the price is right. If there’s corrosion anywhere on that motor, it has more than likely been in salt more than once.
I have a Sea Hunt 210 and I am very pleased with it. It’s a 2005 with @ 224 hours on it, now that I’m retired I will use it more often.
I have a 150 four stroke engine, plenty of power for that size boat. Love the boat. Buy yourself the manufactures tech manual, do the little maintenance yourself and save$$$$
Short falls- I’m thinking, The boat could use some permanently installed lights on the tee top for those nights when you get home late. Could have some lighting over the center console ( I installed a red / White LED light over the center console
The electronics box is just one big box, with a lot of space. I made a custom stowage dividers and installed it in the electronics box, with bungee cord to hold things in place. extra keys, book with my tuna permit, important papers insurance etc. , fishing charts, flashlights. , The marine radio is still their with plenty of room.
Inside the center console , there is a potty, basically useless, wife likes it. Just bring a bucket. Also inside center console I built& installed a stowage nook. It holds a second prop, hydraulic steering fluid , fill hose, transmission fluid for the trim tabs & tilt and trim.
You have the idea,
Best of luck
