2008 Stinger w/ 40 Yam

How much to offer from a private individual - I can’t find much as far as pricing out there on the Stinger (fiberglass made here in Charleston). Not the Lowes!

160 SC - Bay Series
2008 Yam. 40 4 stroke

Issue - Has been kept outside on a floating dock its entire life. Lower unit has been sitting in salt water since February since tilt broke. Has not started since February! What should I offer! Thank you for the help!

Nothing.

Cosigned. I woudln’t even consider buying a small boat that has been wet slipped…

Offer him to pay you to take it to the dump !

okay guys, maybe it isn’t that bad
have him get it to a shop and get them to do a buyers inspection, it may not be that bad, or it could be an artificial reef in the making.

IF I RESPOND IN ALL CAPS, ITS NOT ON PURPOSE, AND I AM NOT YELLING

Nothing wrong with buying a boat that has been wet slipped. Just do your due diligence when buying.

I would look over the boat out of the water. Those boats were known to get soft floors. The boat itself is not worth much. The Yamaha is where the money is.

Lower unit is likely covered. Pressure wash it, and make sure it goes into gear and back to neutral. We could likely get the barnacles off and repaint. If not prepare to drop a grand. The power head could be worth some money to the right people. Check the hours on it, look at the oil, etc.

If you are over your head what Chris V said. And if you don’t want it, pass the contact info on to me.
