2013 inaugural shrimp tournament thread

Here is the deal. I am thinking about a having a little shrimp tournament for CF.com. Stupid idea i had- there are ~ 8 weeks left and I thought it might be neat.

1 entry of 1 shrimp per week per week - shrimp by weight w/ head on (in grams). I have a kitchen scale if you need it. Photo of shrimp and your smiling face required for points.

You get 1 pt for every gram of shrimp, and whoever gets the biggest shrimp in a week gets a bonus 10 grams/points. Ties go to the first person to post.

Winner gets ~2 lbs of home made bacon. 2nd place gets ~1 lb of bacon. 3rd place gets NOTHING (unless you guys want to start thinking about other prizes)

I like it, but more interesting to me is how you make homemade bacon. I LOVE BACON. Bacon tastes good, pork chops taste good.

Not everyone has a crack scale to weigh in their shrimp, how about length instead with picture of said shrimp beside a tape measure. You could buy one of the metric tapes and take the length in cm so no one has to be questioned about adding a 16th to their catch.

I’m gonna photoshop some shrimp, cause his homemade bacon is freakin da bomb oh ya thanks it was really good

length would work too, i guess, but it is hard to get that exact with a shrimp. Maybe something like whisker length - could be like turkey beards

any other ideas?

You could do something like this, but with a metric tape measure and a better quality photo.

Mhebbard… I can donate a gallery wrap shrimp painting (we paint on the sides of the canvas). To say on the side “1st place - Largest Shrimp - Charleston Fishing forum 2013”…you can go to the web site below to get an idea…It will be a 12x12 gallery wrap oil painting of a shrimp…I will do the colors simple but effective. You just keep up with everything and tell me where to send it.

But your bacon may be a better prize…heard is the bomb. I like the metal ruler idea.
