I’d like for everyone to be thinking of ideas for programs in 2013. We can plan to discuss at the December meeting in some form but please put some thought into what you might like to see. Obviously we will not be able to work everything in but I would love some ■■■■■■■■ from the club to help make these programs as beneficial to as many people as possible. Thanks everyone!
I believe a good “formula” for programs involves a mix. By that, I mean a mix of:
- “beginner” focused programs (cut-bait, freeline and planer board, and down-rod fishing tactics, bait keeping/bait tanks, etc.) These can be done by some of your most experienced club members. We all learn new things every time someone presents on these topics, but newcomers especially like them.
2)some “pro” level programs, provided by guides, experts on fishing lakes other than Murray, or recognized experts, like Warren Turner of the SBCC or similar.
-
Conservation related programs either about stripers or lake/water quality (by SCEG, DHEC, SCDNR, etc.)
-
I also like to hear the team of the year or someone who has a hot hand in winning the club tournaments give a program on “tournament strategy” or something like that.
I also think it would help stimulate meeting attendance to get the topics posted on the website well in advance, to try and attract potential new members.
Just my thoughts…

Ditto what Jon Boy said.
A few other presentations I think folks would like.
- Locating and catching your own bait.
- Minor outboard motor maintenance / service
- Strategies for locating and/or patterning stripers seasonally or on unfamiliar lakes.
War Eagle 754 Ducks Unlimited - Yamaha 75
Programs that talk about the new Techonlogy that is out their and what we can see down the road. Lowrance or Hummingbird Techs
6500 Reel maintenance / parts replacement…
“My biggest worry is that my wife (when I’m dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.”
I agree with what everybody else said and i would love to learn how to clean and do maintenance on abu garcia baitcasters
