Mark your calendar anglers! Friday, Nov 15th at 7:00 p.m. We will be having our 3rd Annual SSWA End of Year Oyster Roast & Charity Event benefitting Dorchester Children in Crisis. The place is the Miler CC Pavilion. The cost is $10 for members, $20 for non-members, kids 16 & under FREE!! This year should be bigger than ever!
First - FOOD!! </font id=“red”>
We will have all you can eat steamed oysters, fish stew, chili and fixin’s. Last year there was also assorted finger foods. The food NEVER ends and you will not leave hungry! There will be a full service cash bar at the pavilion.
Second - FUN!!</font id=“red”>
There will be a live DJ. There will be a table full of prizes that you can purchase tickets to win. There is something for everyone and all ages on this table, from games to reels!
We will have a live auction featuring some great items you might need or enjoy, and also a couple 1/2 day guide trips we are working on. One features Mike Waller with Saltfisher Charters who you see posting on here every week! Those post alone should whet your appetite! Another great one is pending, but equally great!
Our playing card drawing! The winner gets a FULL DAYS GUIDE TRIP WITH RALPH PHILLIPS AND ANOTHER LOCAL LEGEND!!! You can buy a playing card from a deck for $10, it gets cut in half, and half thrown into a drawing. Once all are sold, we slowly draw them out until only one is left - the winner! One full day guide trip is worth $800. You could get TWO GUIDES for $10!!
Third - CHARITY!!</font id=“red”>
This will be the 3rd year in a row my Megan puts the auction and drawings together to support Dorchester Children Center. The DCC helps about 1000 abused children throughout the Low Country annually. The monies raised at this event go towards providing Christmas for many of these poor children. Over the past two years the generosity of SSWA Members and their friends has raised nearly $4000!!
