I am really struggling with presentations for this year …
It’s my fault, I have not devoted enough time to getting this done … a problem I am trying to correct …
If no one minds, I will do the February presentation on Planer Boards … I am no expert by any means and there are definitely better qualified people out there to give this presentation, but I do not feel comfortable asking someone under such short notice …
That said, if there are any other topics and/or products that people was to see then please let me know either by responding to the topic or by text/PM/email …
Lot of new members so here we go. Keep it simple. Back to the basics. Bait man on how to keep bait alive. Do and don’t. / winter time tactics. Summer tactics. Some manufactures of the tackle we use. Trailer maintenance, lights, tires, bearings etc. servicing outboards simple repaire to do yourself. Swap and shop. Short sweet and to the point. No double presentations in one meeting. Members of the club must have some thoughts about what they would like to see and hear. So come on and let’s hear some thoughts.
Trailer repair and preventive maintenance would be great. Have had several folks with bearings go out in the last year. What dother you need to have with you to get home? How to prevent it in the future?
Spring fishing tactics. How does weather and barometric pressure affect movement and the bite? Jonboy did a good discussion of this some years ago.
I think the trailer maintenance would be great especially after yesterday! I also think that having someone with Lowrance/Humminbird come in and talk about settings, reading the graph, etc…
All good ideas so far! I can talk on just about anything striper related, but I tend to field a lot of questions, concerning jigging spoons for both stripers and perch. If you get in a pinch Rick, that might be an idea. I presented on that 3-4 years ago but would be willing to share that and what I’ve learned since then. Also, I might be able to get Spoonmaster Dave Jeffries to jump in with me.
Fog, I’m in, if needed… if I ever get over this bronchitis!! But you know everything that I know already! Except for maybe what I call the secret “S. K. jiggle”. I’ve probably got more spoons in my posession than your whole club combined.
I would recommend Bill Carson to give a presentation on the new Humminbird electronics and MInn Kota trolling motors. Richy, Townsend, or I could provide contact info.

Is the February meeting going to happen on the 14th as it normally would even though it’s valentine’s day? Just verifying, so I know to make my plans over the weekend lol.
I think a Planer board presentation would be great (for new members especially). Plus, I also like to hear/see how others may run them differently than I do, or pick up different tricks to make deploying the spread go faster. Sounds great to me.
The other suggestions above also all sound great. If possible, presenting on the topics/tactics when they are most useful to the audience would be my only suggestion. Also maintenance topics don’t ever tend to be the most fun, I do think they are very important to cover!

If anyone tells you that you fish too much, stop talking to them. You don’t need that kind of negativity in your life
The home bait tank thread on the Striper forum was really interesting to me… a presentation on setting up a Tote Tank home system would be good… One for folks with well water with an overflow design, and one with a recirculating nitrifying filter for folks with city water… chemicals, salt addition, adding bacteria, controlling temperature… stuff like that would be good.

Saludajohn & Jon Boy,
I am planning a Home Bait Tank presentation for the September meeting … Since there are different methods I would like to make this presentation a Panel format presentation and have 3-4 club members briefly describe their setup and then the panel can field questions from the club …
Since I have two tanks at the house I am willing to be one of the panel members … I just need a couple more volunteers …
