2018 Boat Show

Who bought a new boat? Anyone see something they really liked?

The Salt Marsh 18’ Heron is a new skiff that looked pretty good and had a stomachable price tag of 25K.

I am still a fan of the Grady 23 Sportfish but she’s not cheap.

The 24’ Robalo 246 Cayman was pretty sweet and seems like its built solid.

Still love the Maverick HPX 18. Who doesn’t like the idea of light carbon kevlar light weight strong poling. I just don’t like the price tag.

what was the price of the hpx?

I bought a new boat prior to the boat show for boat show pricing. I checked out the Cayman, I just don’t like how Robalo has their logo embossed across the front of the console, across the rear seats etc. Just a bit too much in my opinion and makes a sweet boat look cheap. My absolute favorite of the show was the Edgewater 370 with the tower. That thing was absolutely ridiculous, but way to plush for me to ever want to sling blood onto. Definitely an awesome cruiser and head turner.

I thought for sure you would have bought that 26 foot Pioneer. She was pretty.

I’d stay away from the Robalos until they can get the hatch problem solved. There’s too many other offerings in that class at that price point to settle.

The 27’ Tidewater bay boat with twin 300s was interesting.

Ill tell you that Ankona Shadowcast 18 is sweet for what it is especially at that price

I bought the Sportsman 212 Open the Friday before Christmas to get my order in before the boat show and gambling that they wouldn’t have much in the way of a boat show discount. It worked out well for me in that I will get the boat almost 2 months earlier (next month late) and the only “deal” Sportsman was offering was additional warranty on the motor (Yamaha). The most impressive boat I saw was the Blackfin. I had never heard of the make but it appeared to have a great warranty and appeared well built. However it came with a big price tag. The boat show price on the 24’-26’was $100k and that included a $40k boat show discount.

Yep. 52K was the boat show price I think the retail on the HPX was like 68K.

I hear ya Jeremiah on the Rabolo.

K Ulmer I think your gonna like that 212. My neighbor has one and he loves it. Did you get the T-Top?

Hookem - I did get the hard top with it. Always wanted a hard top.
