Was wondering what the driest 21’ to 23’ boat any of you all have ridden on, any model, any year, I know this is preference and kind of an open ended question. Just trying to get a feel on some of the dryer boats! I know its a boat and your surrounded by water and your gonna get wet but some are wetter than others!!
Speed makes a lot of difference also! The faster the boat the wetter your going to get if you have it at 30MPH. I have a 23.5 Sea Pro WA and it’s pretty dry.
The 22’ Sea Hunts (Triton) have whats called “Carolina Flare”. That means the front of the boat is wider than the stern with an outword flared bow that helps keep it dry. All Sea Hunts are not made this way so check the models that have and have not and you will see what I mean. My 2 cents worth.
Most of the 21+ boats with the tall bow are going to ride pretty dry. My key west 225 is awesome, but I cant say that about the 1720 or 156. Bigger boat, taller bow, and out run that wind! My gunnel rod holders get wet near the back when riding in high wind, but if I pick it up over 25mph they dont get wet.
The bluewater boats are good looking boats!! But they are pretty pricey!! Thanks for all the input guys!! What I am looking at is I kind of want an older boat to fix up myself!! Mako, grady, etc any input on an older boat is much appreciated!!! Thanks again!!
