210 Bay Reef Key West ???

Anybody have any experience or information with the
210 Bay Reef by Key West?
I like the design and layout.
Is it a new hull design & if it is how well does it perform on the water?
It looks like most come with a 150 HP motor.
Is this enough motor for this boat?
I currently have a 196 Bay Reef with a 150 HP and have been very satisfied with it. Thinking about “upsizing”.
Any info would be appreciated.

How about other similar mfgrs & models?

Thanks

I checked out a KW 210 right before I got my Hydra-sports. The only reason I got the HS was because of the power. The KW had a 150 on it. I think its underpowered, just my opinion. When cruising at 30 it was running at 4500rpm. The 225 is 3000rpm. Less wear and tear.

I thought it was an excellent boat. Layout was nice, good deadrise, lots of storage and deck. If it had a 200 on it, I would have bought it. Sea hunt makes a real nice similar boat as well.

I agree. I checked out a KW but just couldn’t squeeze the wallet any harder for more $$. I settled for a ‘different’ Bay and for the $$ it suits well. Don’t skimp on the power though; my 215 has a 2stroke 150 and it really is a little weak for the size vessel. Oh well, live, spend and learn. Next go round will certainly be a 200+. If the set up is good, buy a good used 250 and repower; sell the 150 to get some of your money back. I’ve seen some good low hour 150’s are going for about $5-6k. Don’t short change the boat layout for more power though. Storage and fishability are critical to an enjoyable vessel. just my 2 cents.

I’ve got the 196 bayreef and love it. I do have a 200hp on it so power really isn’t an issue. I’ve run in the high 50’s on calm days.
