210 Bay Reef Key West - ???

I posted this in the boats and motors section, but decided to post it here also. …

Anybody have any experience or information with the
210 Bay Reef by Key West?
I like the design and layout.
Is it a new hull design & if it is how well does it perform on the water?
It looks like most come with a 150 HP motor.
Is this enough motor for this boat?
I currently have a 196 Bay Reef with a 150 HP and have been very satisfied with it. Thinking about “upsizing”.
Any info would be appreciated.

How about other similar mfgrs & models?

Thanks

if you haven’t looked at the sea hunt bx model i would. that is one sweet boat. a 150 hp should be enough motor.

green grass and high tides forever
jhp----- Murrells Inlet

Thanks, haven’t looked at it, but will.

New ky is nice, saw one up close a few weeks ago. Lots of storage

Took a look online at the Sea Hunt BX Model.
Nice Looking Boat.
How do the Sea Hunts compare - Price Wise - with the Key West Boats?

I still wonder if the 150 HP is enough motor for this boat.

I guess “price” will be the deciding the factor between 150HP and 200 HP…

Thanks for all of the responses.
Appreciate it.

Check out tidewaters too PI marine sells them.

I purchased a 210 and realy like it! Keep in the water in Georgetown so we painted the bottom which slows it down a little. I wish we would have gone with a 200 or 225 just for a littte extra speed.

We did not get tabs but the boat still performs good and rides well. If I had it to do over, I think I would have put tabs on it just for weight distribution and being able to run a little shallower.

I like the bait wells and rod storage! My wife likes the console, we put a porta-poti in it and now she will go with me! Kinda tight but its the only bay boat that I know of that has a console big enough!

Its in the water on the riverfront and would gladly take you for a ride if you are seriously looking! We bought ours from Marshalls Marine in Lake City.

JHP, Frank is waiting on you and Ralph to come fish with him!

Michael Smith,

I will probably sign the papers on a 210 tomorrow at Marshall’s.
Tested in their lake and liked it.
Have known these guys for years and the guys in their service dept.
One of the salesman (B.H.) mentioned that you had purchased a 210.

Thanks for the information and the offer.

PS - Marshall’s gave me a “sweet deal”… :sunglasses:

Will this boat really float in 12" water? Is the hydraulic jack plate worthwhile? Would anyone mind sharing what they paid?

Well, I fished in the new boat for the first time today.
Fished at Santee for catfish. (Caught about 75 lbs before the heat ran us off the lake.)
The boat is “Awesome”.
I had a Key West 196 Bay Reef w/ 150 OPtimax and really liked that boat.
I like the 210BR that “much more”.
Mine has the 150 HP Yamaha.
Loaded heavily with 4 people, 60 gallons of gas, and “way too much” tackle it easily got on plane & cruised effortlessly at 40 mph.

I tested it Friday afternoon with my son and myself w/ about 30 gallons of gas.
Top speed was 48 mph.

The max I could achieve in the 196 was 45 mph by myself.

The upgrades to the boat (rod lockers, extra storage space, leaning post w/ seat, etc.) make this one nice boat.

I added the Lowrance Gen 2 HDS 10 to the package & Driftmaster rod holders.

I am looking forward to many years of fishing in this boat.

If you are interested in this boat, give the guys at Marshall’s Marine a call.
You’ll be surprised at how the boat “prices out”.
