My four stroke keeps dropping off RPMs, but will get back up after pumping the bulb. I’ve replaced the fuel pump, all lines, the filter on the engine and the water separator. I have two separate fuel tanks and it does it on either one. Has anyone had something similar or any suggestions other than taking to a real mechanic?
It may be dropping rpm’s beause its’s overheating and the alarms are not going off. If it’s overheating you probably have the cooling chamber corrosion problem. What year.?? Google Yamaha f225 corrosion.
Try running it on a portable tank …
If that works OK, your tank may have a bad anti-siphon valve, or plugged vent (mud dobbers?).
Thanks, Captain Ross

I think the problem has to do with tank on the motor with the high pressure fuel pump and filter; a bit over my skill level. Didn’t know there was a high pressure fuel pump. Hopefully the problem will get finally soved. It’s a 2007 model and it’s been a good one actually.
