226 10/13

We were there with the entire fleet yesterday. Of course it was a great ride out with the 1-2 at 8, and a gorgeous day on the water. And we had a cut-off on the WB immediately when we put lines in at 7:45. In fact that was the kind of day it turned out to be with a number of cut-offs and pulled hooks and knock-downs.

Best looking place was a nice weedline at 300’, with birds and small tuna. We landed a small Blackfin, which we rigged up and sent back out. The biggest excitement came when something took the tuna…but it bit him off just behind his ears.

We could not find the sails nor wahoo…like this time last year. A few boats did catch a sail…but the radio sounded as though the bite was generally slow, and the sails more scattered.

But then, even a slow day of fishing beats most anything else. Especially when it is the first decent weekend weather in a long time.
