With a new crew and the 1st trip of the year we were outside the jetties by 445 and just out past 226 at 745, needless to say the ocean provided and we took advantage. we started in 74 degrees, trolled out then in NOTTA… We trolled North and had our 1st double/tripple knockdown. We boated one then found out she hit all the lines before settling on one. trolled there a while and did not get another bite. changed baits moved north, got a nice bottle nose dolphin show, went north on the outside of the ledge and got a nice Marlin to enter the spread. sent everything his way, naked, blue, pink and nothing. He jsut swam back there a while not biting anything. Frustrating not to say the least… Ended up one in the box and a 35 mph ride home. Good job to those that found the fish we had a great day on the ocean and cant wait to do it again. Thanks CF for the new fishing buddies…
Thanks for that. some of them were larger than I expected to see. The little ones made all sorts of sqeaking noises when they came up for air. We see them every so often while offshore but this was rare b/c there were 50-60 of them. Some playing with the squid teaser and the baits. That was pretty cool to see.
Hey KW225 It was nice to meet and fish with you. Had a great first trip out to the stream learned alot. Those dolphin were sure a sight. Hope to do it again soon! it an only get better from here on in. catch um up…Mike
as it gets into May we’ll run out there again and go fishing… with proper planning and a bit of fish cooperation we’ll come back with a boat loaded with fish, great stories and building friendships.
