Fished the Hilton Tourney on the Russell Hatt. Lure fished both days. Fished around the 226 Hole both days. Day 1 - Blue Marlin. Entered day 2 tied for 2nd place. Went back to the same spot, jumped a grown blue marlin at 11:58. Spit the hook at 12:26. Possible kill fish, definite tournament winner. 18 boats fishing today, Russell Hatt sitting in third. Thanks to the Russell Hatt crew for having me along. Hope you guys stay in the money.

robert did lose a huge fish. i did’nt get all the details when i spoke to him because he was still busy so i did’nt want to speculate. sounds like fly has some firsthand knowledge. not the fisrt time he has barely lost a tourney. his time will come and i hope it’s in charleston. he has definately been at it long enough to be due a win. but that’s fishing. again congrats to dennis. yet another captain that has put in his time on the water around here.

beside Robert when they hooked up in the morning.

robert’s boat hooked up about 5 min after lines in and lost it 30 min after lines in. Leadered it 3 times and the 3rd had 2 wraps and the hook pulled. they had the gaff ready and it just pulled. They said after 7 hrs the fish swam away fine and it lit up after the 2nd leadering they said bigger than game on’s
Amazing tournament…exciting to the end. Russell Hatt held third place, not quite enough to cover expenses, but still a slice of the pie. Congrats to Chuck Town boys Brian O’Quinn and Eric Beltz on a job well done. Thanks again for the ride.
