23' SeaCraft Sceptre project

It looks like this may be the first of my projects that I might not get to running status. With house projects, pool to maintain, fiance in grad school, and being really covered up at work, I’m just struggling to find any time to get much work done on the boat. Would like to be spending what little spare time I do have on the water these days instead of working on one.

1985 23’ SeaCraft Sceptre
-Floor is solid everywhere
-My fiberglass guy is wrapping up recoring the tank hatch and the bow on top of the cabin, filling all the old gauge holes at the helm. He’s using Klegecell.
-Filled and faired old transom screw holes, nicks, and scratches
-It’s been sanded and primed with System Three SilverTip Yacht Primer
-I have a gallon of Bluewater Mega Gloss Gold Silicone Copolymer in a seafoam color for it but have not applied it yet
-Transom is solid overall but does have a little rot in the bottom corners. My plan was to run it as is, it’s solid.
-I have emptied the tank but not had it pressure tested yet. Looks to be in fine shape though and doesn’t show any signs of having been leaking
-Ripped out the old nasty cabin carpet but haven’t cleaned up the adhesive residue or re-carpeted yet.

Included:

  • bimini with front drop curtain
  • Bennett trim tabs
  • Fiberglass outrigger poles
  • extra set of captains chairs

Also available:

  • Wesco tandem axle aluminum trailer. Needs hubs before being towed long distance. Some axle and hardware rust. Would need overhauled before a ton of long distance towing, but it’s more than fine for a project boat.

I’m willing to split things up to sell separately. Would prefer to hang on to the trailer until the hull sells.

Located in Charleston
Titles in hand for boat

Hull only - $1500
Trailer - $1500

Make me some offers on the parts of the package that you want!

It will cost you $25 but you may get more attention on CSC site. http://www.classicseacraft.com/

Do you know the model# on the Furuno, and, by chance, do you have the dash mount bracket?

The dash bracket I do not have. Been on the lookout for one. I’m thinking one could be found on THT with a wanted ad. The model on the display is RDP-149. Mine is the Navionics version. I think through a software update it can be converted to take Cmap cards, I do not know if that has been done to this unit.

Thanks. I am a member over there. Might list it there if it doesn’t get some attention in my other locations. Only thing is 90% of the little traffic over there already owns more than one.

Motors are sold. Keeping the furuno. Boat and trailer still available.

See pm

Boat is back and the house and ready for anyone who wants to come look. Dirty from the fiberglass guy. I’ll pressure wash it next weekend if I get some free time.
