I’m going to be in the market for a used 24-26’ Center Console next year, and I’d like to get out on a few different models this summer to get a feel for the different rides. I took a short test ride in a 24’ Regulator a couple years ago, and I really liked the feel, but I’d like to weigh my options.
The Pursuit is a great boat, and we plan to keep it for a while, but I want something that I can trailer down to Florida and still make it safely across to Bimini when the weather is nice, and still be able to beach it at some of the local hotspots without needing to bring along a dinghy.
The brands I’m currently looking at are Regulator, Edgewater, Pursuit, Grady, Yellowfin and other boats of similar quality.
If you’ve got a boat that falls into this category, I’d really appreciate a spot on a fishing trip this summer. I’m an experienced angler, and of course, I’ll pay my share in fuel and expenses.
It hasn’t been that simple in the past. They want commitment. Deposit, contract, credit check, etc. Another benefit of fishing with real owners is that they know the good and bad of their boats.
Looking for a fishing boat with forward seating to keep the wife happy.
That’s one of the things I like about the Regulator 24FS and 26FS.
Very nice fishing layout that still has plenty of seating in the front.
Sounds like you are looking at boats on a tier above Sea Hunts but, unless you have real concern over the brand, check them out. The new Gamefish series has a higher level of detailing and I think they have a 26-27 footer. I have the Ultra and it is very well fitted for fishing and family.
