24 Albemarle

Curious if any one has a 247 or 248 Albemarle locally that a friend and I could take a look at in person and possibly take a ride on through the jetties. Of course we’d pay for your time and expenses. We will also be looking to score a first hand glance at a 25 Carolina Classic.
From all I’ve been reading the Albemarle rides just as good but way more fuel efficient. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I recently had to sell the 23 SeaCraft and would be looking for another, but am thinking I should get something with a cabin or big center console for the girls to access while fishing. Both of my daughters love to be in the boat but need privacy at times. This is the main reason for looking at these 2 boats. Both can be bought fairly cheap and can handle the sloppy stuff very well for smallish boats. I only hope they can compare to the SeaCraft.

“No… it’s okay, I know the way out…”

Hard to beat that Seacraft, but both you are looking at will work well! Might try a Bertram 25.

Love my 99 Albe 247. Only put 100 hours on her so far. Average 1.5 miles/gallon regardless of conditions. Better ride than I ever imagined. Wish I could help with the ride, but I’m 200 miles inland

Thanks for the information. I’m pretty far in too, Chapin SC. That’s why the ride of the boat is very important. If I make the drive to go, we’re pretty committed. It’s only about 90 miles for us though.

Drove to New Jersey in August of 2016 to bring mine home. Took a while for me to get comfortable with I/O drive and maintenance. The 24 degree dead rise will allow more roll than most boats when drifting. Handles differently than CC. Never been on a Seacraft, but the Albe ride is night and day compared to the Key West 22 CC that she replaced for us.

Seems most that are for sale are definitely up north. The SeaCraft replaced a 2220 KeyWest for me as well. It was also night and day difference. The SeaCraft was also 24 degree, but variable. Very good riding boat!!

I’ve fished a 24 Albermarle and it’s a great boat. Well built and cuts the water. Rolls on the troll like Cbyte said. Small tough boat that I consider safe.

I got a 25 Carolina classic in Columbia Sc for sale if interested. Contact me at 8033312692

Up for sale is a 1997 25 Carolina Classic with 8.1 crusader installed in 2011 with roughly 400 hours on motor. Boat holds 165 gallons of fuel and fishing out of Charleston or Georgetown the most I’ve ever burned was 126 gallons. Boat cruises between 26-30 mph depending on sea state. Amazing rough water ride, no other 25 foot boat will compare to it. New in 2016 9 inch lowrance with transducer, new running lights, steering helm rebuilt and the engine hatch cylinders were rebuilt. New in 2017 new risers and manifolds, heat exchanger cleaned and new zink installed in it, new spark plugs, fuel rail and injectors cleaned 2016, new water pump, new belt, oil just changed along with filter, transom shield studs replaced, remand outdrive, new props, new trim tab hoses, new 12 foot center rigger, new garmin 741xs with transducer, new garmin gxm53 weather/radio antenna, second vhf/second antenna, new bellow on outdrive, new bottom paint, new rotors, new calipers, new brake pads on trailer, 6 new trailer tires, new lights on trailer, 20 foot single spreader outriggers were just restrung and are triple rigged. Boat also has simrad auto pilot, all gauges work, teaser reels with pulleys to make retrieval easy. Boat is a great boat we troll a seven rod spread with no problems and the boat has a clean wake and raises fish.
