24 GW offshore

What is the secret of getting into your boat while on the trailer? I have a bay boat that I can crawl into and a pontoon I build steps on the front of. I have a 24 GW offshore that I cant get into while on the trailer any sugestions? Thanks in advance. fi****

Dive ladder on the swim platform , otherwise I have a cheap lightweight aluminum ladder I put in the back of the truck to get into my albe.

-Albemarle 248xf “Chella”
-Dolphin 18BC Pro
-Miscellaneous boats
“Praise the lord and pass the ammunition” -Howell Forgy

I am 64 years old and have a 22 foot Pioneer Sportfish. I usually just step on the front of the trailer, hold onto the bow of the boat, step up on the winch post and then to the bow of the boat.

Northern tool has some nice aluminum steps you can bolt to winch stand. If i remember they were $23

I put these on the trailer for my 23 tide water and love them! I’m not associated with the company was just in the same predicament that you are. I couldn’t get in the boat at the ramp or launch it by my self. Since I put these on easy in and out! They’re low profile too and match the trailer so you can hardly notice them…look good. Best part is I haven’t seen a hint of corrosion or discoloring on them! http://dtsinnovations.com/

Little spendy but should last for ever and worth every cent considering I can put the boat in solo.

I should’ve mentioned I got the sportsman II model. Easy as heck to install just bolt right on

It ain’t pretty but to get on my 30ft contender I pull myself up on to the fender and lay my belly on the gunnle. Then swing one leg at a time on to the boat. Make sure you’re holding on good. If your hand slips you’re goin for a spill on your butt. If I can still do it at my age it can’t be that hard.

im laughing with you right now!!! i think he is talking about when the boat is back in the water on ramp.

I bought 1/2 of a 6’ fiberglass step ladder( big half with steps) at a garage sale for $8.00 and use it to climb into my Bertram when its on the trailer and bungy it to the front of the trailer when not in use. At almost 70 it’s not as easy as it used to be to climb over the bow off the tra.

Thanks guys, some great imfo. I have done some of these techiques but its not pretty. I think I will go with the steps that surfisher recommended if the anchor will not be in the way. fi****

I have one of these… http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=FlexStep-Adjustable-Trailer-Step&i=856185 . Between that and the 2 spares I have mounted on the post, pretty easy to climb in from the bed of the truck and get out w/o getting wet.
