Made the call last minute to try it.
Left trolling rods home, don’t trust forecasts!
Far end of channel, buoys gave up no live bait.
Made our way to 41004 but I didn’t have the heart to wake the beanbaggers, kept running another 8 or so miles until the bottom looked fishy enough.
Sardines, cut squid and frozen menhaden kept us busy.
Just made drifts, not sure of area and as we continued we varied the catch.
Wind seemed to lay down @ 1600, big deal, already on the way in.
I looked at the 41004 buoy stats several times Saturday…was glad I was not out there.

We left Wappoo at 6:45 and ran out in good conditions. By the time we reached our first drop 20 miles out, the wind had picked up to a solid 15 knots out of the north east. We fished from 75’ out to 95’. It was a good day for large black sea bass, vermillion, and pinks but no reds or gags. At least it laid a little for the run in starting at 2:00.
