I swapped out my two batteries in the boat a couple weeks ago… Ever since then each time the key is turned to the on position, the boat beeps 6 times. Before it only beeped once when key was turned on…
Any advice appreciated. Thanks

I have have other questions email Glen E at the veradoclub site. He is the moderator. You may also want to check out www.thehulltruth.com. Glen E frequents that site and can help you out and others may also. Sorry Andy for posting other sites, just trying to help another verado guy out.
I was an electrical engineer at Mercury for several years…so I am familiar with the Verado. Does your tachometer not have an LCD display at the bottom?
I have the 6 beep problem also on my '08 150 - it occurs not when I turn the engine on but when I throttle up to get on plane. The message I get is “fault sensor”. Is this an equipment problem or a software problem?
I vote for software.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Saltydog,
I have owned multiple Yamaha’s all great. Verado is better. Over 1100 hours, no big issues. Of course with two 200’s on a 26 Mako you probably would not know the difference anyways, you are use to poor performance.

My two Yamaha’s don’t break down, push the boat just fine (50’s fast enough for me), are great on fuel and are quiet. I had constant problems from my old Mercs and have been on numerous Verado powered boats and many of them had break down issues. I don’t care how fast I go, I just need to get back.
I reckon if you feel the need for a weiner measuring contest you can go there, mine works and does exactly what I need it to do when I need it.

Still waiting on the 2 stroke vs 4 stroke weiner joke.
At Ft Myers fla Merc has a test facility.I watched yellow Merc boats run up and down the bay. Most times towed back.LOL Merc has always pushed speed, dependability was left behind.
