26" Trout

This beauty was caught using a live shrimp under a popping cork in about three feet of water. Gently handled. pictures taken, and released to swim again. On this day, three friends caught about fifty fish and took home 10 for upcoming fish fry.

Nice fish!

Wow, I am getting so jealous. Good on you for letting him go. More trout babies to come I’m sure.

I think I’d be smiling about that big too, if I ever caught a trout that large! Great catch!

On a side note, that looks like a pretty interesting area to fish – almost looks like the water should be a little sweet, but I guess Ms. Trout says otherwise!

Stud fo sho!

Thank you Ron and everyone else for your kind words. I truly believe this is a once-in-a lifetime fish and there was no way it was going into a cooler. We had enough redfish and other smaller trout to make the day at that time. We couldn’t believe it was trout when we first saw it! The picture really doesn’t do it justice and it was heavy. We did not weigh it, so any estimate would be a WAG, Mike.
