This is not a Fako Mako, its the real deal Schewbke family production hull. HIN MRKO062FD595, the MRK designates this boat as an Original Mako.

I wouldn’t part with it but its really just too big for my needs and family enjoyment. I’m sure I’ll regret it but I don’t have room or time for two boats right now. I need something that we can use with more regularity.
Yep, this was the 62nd hull made on the 262 hull mold. From what I understand reading Brett Schewbke’s post on CM, there weren’t but something like 125 of them made before Mako became Mako Marine International and quality started to downgrade. MRK is an original hull and considered a 1st Generation, MMI would have made it a 2nd Generation, not sure what the new ones begin with. We were at Bass Pro a few weeks ago and I took a look at a new 23’ boat. I wouldn’t have it, my 17 year old boat is built like a tank, the new one isn’t even comparable. And the price on the new one was rediculous for what you got.
BTW Phin, thanks for speaking with me. The Pioneer 222 Sportfish is our choice. You were right about the Glades, great looking but not what I’m looking for.

If I could have any Mako, money not being an option, it would be this exact hull with the same power. Twin 150’s are underpowered. 175’s okay. 200’s perfect.
This hull with twin 200’s and the old 25 I have with a big single are the best hulls Mako ever made as far as I can tell. Another one that’s up there is the 261B. The 262 is the more modern design with the old company’s quality.
Would pay more for this 262 than I would pay for a brand new 26 mako based on my experiences with the new ones.
Hard to believe a brand can become that.

Those four strokes woke that boat up that’s for sure. We’ve definitley ventured a ways out there too. Never really checked the mileage but we’ve gone way out there, almost to Bubble Rock, trolled all day and come back in to Winyah and up the river to Hagley Landing without ever getting into the reserve tank. I just quit filling that tank because it was never used, the gas ended up going bad.
