27 lb. Red Snapper caught during MAD 2.5

The trip Friday was a lot of fun. From a fishing perspective it was a little tough, but that had to do with the weather. 5-7 foot seas all day, occassionally some bigger. Thunder, lightning, pouring rain most of the day although it did lay down for the ride home.

Big fish was actually a BIG FISH caught by one of our guests.

Here are some pics but there will be a few hundred posted in the photo albums of the MAD site…

27 lbs, 39 inch long Red Snapper

Not the greatest of weather. Unfortunately the guy on the bow in this photo was in the majority, rather than the minority. But heck, they are MARINES and battled through it all day long

Our guests for the day, USMC Camp Lejeune Wounded Warriors!

What a great way to end a wonderful day on the water with some of the finest people I will ever have the privilege of meeting!

Now that the third MAD event is in the books, folks keep an eye out as we have announced the date for the fourth MAD event!

June 7, 2008 at USCG Fort Macon will be MAD 2008

PLUS… sometime in late summer or fall, there will be a MAD event at USCG Station Oak Island but the specific date and details are still being worked

Man, That’s a nice red!I noticed that it had a coppery tone on it’s head.I wonder if they’re cross-breeding with cuberas a little?A good day for a GREAT cause.

That copper coloring was not evident on the fish, must be my lousy photography skills…

MAD 3 will be June 7 at the Atlantic Beach (NC) Coast Guard Station and we have also begun planning for a fall 2008 event at USCG Station Oak Island. Getting closer to SC!
