Not sure if this topic is someone trolling or legitimate, but if legitimate, you have a lot of boats in that price range and Sea Fox or Mako would not be one of them.
You also need to think about resale and Regulator, Contender, SeaVee, Yellowfin are all well respected in this area and have great resale value. I’d get the biggest boat you can afford if you want to fish offshore because it gets rough fast around here. I’m sure others will chine in with other boat manufacturers and Freeman is another excellent choice, but they are super pricey.
I’d get a 28 Carolina Classic with diesels, but that’s me.
jtm this is legitimate. we are going to buy a boat. we have a 25’ walk around that we have been fishing for about 10 years and are ready for a new boat. I also do not want to spend anymore than I have too. Is there an issue with Sea Fox or Mako? I am no expert (that is why I am asking for recommendations. They both look like good boats to me.
don t know where you re located, but it s boat show season. best place to look at all kinds of options/models. there is a show in charleston this weekend. with 10 years of experience, you hopefully can pick out the boat that has the most options that you need. good luck

Nothing wrong with SeaFox or Mako, but most would not consider these the best quality boats for offshore fishing. Makos 1995 or older are solid as a tank.
Boat show is this weekend and there will be a ton of boats to look at.
I’m a fan of the boat brands I referenced earlier because you know what you are getting and if you ever decide to sell, you’ll have no issue and they hold their value. A bunch of boat manufacturers have sprung up over the past decade and almost everyone makes an offshore and inshore bay boat now. The brands I mentioned have been making offshore boats for many years, with the exception of Yellowfin and Yellowfin’s reputation speaks for itself.
I owned and fished a 26 Regulator for years and the ride and quality are unmatched. I also sold the boat for what I paid after fishing it for 6 years…pretty impressive resale.
Seafox is and always will be junk, have a buddy with a 2016 bay seafox and the nonskid is blistering in spots among other issues, plus resale sucks because of their reputation. 150k I’m going contender, regulator, venture, bluewater or seavee, fished all 5 of those in $^&* and they all did it well.
Cobia are decent boats but honestly if your looking for a fishing boat buy a well kept, used contender or regulator for same price. Much better hull for rough water and better all around fishing platform
I’ve fished on a 27 Sea Hunt quite a few times and it was a great riding boat. I used to have a Nautic Star and it was a great riding boat as well but the fit and finish wasn’t super. Sportsman is making some good looking boats but I haven’t rode in one so I couldn’t tell you what to expect. They have really good access to the bilge area so that’s a plus.
I have a 2015 27ft sea hunt that Ill be listing in July/August. Twin F200s, Twin Garmin 7612s, Garmin Dome, Simard AP, Marsh Tacky / Rupp outriggers, Windless. Twin Chirp Thru Hulls, full curtains. Should have around 600 hours. Boat rides well in 3ft or less and greater than 6 sec. 2.0 mpg at 4000 rpm. Tops out around 50 loaded. Boat catches fish, small enough to fish 3 ft water creeks, pull the kids around on the taco and gets us to the ledge and home without getting beat up or wet.

I have fished both a 27-Contender and a 27 Sailfish on a regular basis. Few here would complain about the quality of either one of these boats, they are both made extremely well and they will both soak you. I am not talking about a few drops of spray, I am talking about 5-gallon bucket loads of water on a moderate day. I swear my 23 is a drier boat than these 27s.
