29°? No worries

29° in the morning in Charleston??? Headed out anyways and had an epic day. Started out picking at some lower slot fish, some trout and several flounder. At the turn of high tide, hit a pocket on a bank that kept us busy for the next two hours. 100+ fish between the two of us, all on artificial. Zman TRD and Slim Swimz were the hot lures. Lost count of times we doubled up

That’s awesome!!! Now’s the time, people! Get out there!

FF, I know I’m always talking about the Xpress every time you post but I do have another question. Which platform are y’all using on the front deck? I’ve been considering going with a platform versus using a cooler.

Congrats on the epic day and thanks for sharing.

I appreciate it bud. Again, I was on my buddy’s boat so I’m not sure what platform that is. Looks to be a standard casting platform that has the cleat under it with the turnbuckle system to secure it to the deck. I’ll have him chime in with further info

Nice going, great report and pics!

I’m not a Dr, those are my initials and I cant edit my user name. Please do not contact me regarding medical issues

At high tide, how were you catching them / what depth? Were they in the spartina? Away from the bank clustered around oysters? Were you sight casting? I haven’t had any success at high tide curious what I’m doing wrong / what I’m not doing right.

They were in about 2’ of water hugged up against the grass. The grass pocket was touching a large mud flat. We were not sight casting.

Appreciate it. One would think that I’m sponsored by Huk if they went in my closet. Unfortunately I’m not, but I will say I find their clothing great. The foul weather gear seems to do exactly what it is designed to, keeps you dry while adding a decent wind breaking property to help with warmth.

If only it didn’t looks so awful. They would have to sponsor me for me to wear it. Good job catching. The fish clearly don’t share my fashion sensibilities

I’ll second Cap’s word on the Huk gear. I have the same (Next Level)set up foul weather gear (different color) and I have had it out in some down pours and it has yet to let me get wet. It’s light weight but does a great job of knocking down the wind.

Huk is phasing out the Kryptek camo patterns/colors (going to Mossy Oak Elements I believe) so you can get the set at a discounted price on their website. I think they only have black and Kryptek Raid left.

I appreciate it Bang! It really is solid gear. I didn’t know about phasing out the Kryptek all together, but they are definitely going to a new pattern called Subphantis. I haven’t seen or heard of any “mossy oak camo” patter

This is the Mossy Oak Elements… https://www.hukgear.com/collections/new-arrivals/products/huk-performance-elements-hoodie-18?variant=12567754113098

I’ve seen the Subphantis too but haven’t seen either in their foul weather gear…yet.

Yeah I’ve seen that design, it’s supposed to look like water. Was hoping they didn’t turn to actual camo designs for their fishing line up.
