There will be conventional and fly fishing divisions, If we can get enough people for them there will be a ladies division and a youth angler division and of course there will be the Splooshers Cup for most inches of trash-fish (Stingray, lady fish, toadfish, lizard fish) and a special prize to go along with it… Catergories will be announced later

Spread the word, mark your calendars and I’ll keep updateing this thread on prizes, guests, and sponsors as the days go by.

So far our Sponsors and shops that have pledged to help us out are:

The Dog and Duck, Park West
The Charleston Angler
Okuma
Stearns
St. Croix
West Marine
KOA Mt P.
Epic Kayaks

There is plenty of room on the flyer and the upcoming website. We are always looking for other shops and people to donate to keep our Heroes fishing. When ever we have a Hero come fish with us, they pay for nothing. The Chapter covers all their costs so all they have to worry about is going fishin. Y

Think you can get some consumer electronics donated to the cause? I’ve got a nice TV, but it sure would be fun to fish for a shot at a blue ray player.

Do you have any flyers or anything that you can email me??? I have a local kayak shop here in Hickory that’ s interested and would like a flyer or two if you have any. I know the assistant manager is a vet and either the manager or owner is also a vet and they love the idea. Maybe you could get some upper carolina brothers down for the cause. I’m planning on being there.

I have a flyer but I am trying to get some sponsors logos on it… I have a couple local shops here who won’t commit or tell me no so I am giving them a little bit before I leave them off the flyer… I’ll have it ready for posting next week though… I’d love to have some of our upstate brothers down for the event, Geauxfish was down for the 1st one and he had a blast.

if anyone or any shop would like to be added to the flyer as a sponsor please contact me so we can work out the details. Your logo on the flyer, tourney id, and some other goodies for your shop are the normal fare for our sponsors. Once we finally get a web site up a link will be established to your web site to advertise for your for helping out HOW. We do all we can to help our sponsoirs out as much as we can. Thanks to all of you!!!

Oh yeah BTW the trash fish slam winner will be in charge of the care of the Splooshers Cup… a travelling trophy that will have you rname engraved on it and you will need to ensure it’s safe passge to the next winner… Photos of the Trophy are coming soon…

quick survey for participants!!!

what would be a better prize. blue ray player, small lcd tv, smart remote, a long hdmi cable, or a $200 gift certificate?

My preference in order gift certificate, blu ray, tv, remote, hdmi

Suppose Gift certificate.

Ken did you talk to Haddrels about a possible sponsorship. They tried doing a kayak tournament a few years ago and might be interested in getting involved. Also are you doing Captain’s Bags? A lot of the lure companies have sample packs they send out and they can add up to make a nice bag.

Hobie Pro Angler
Hobie Revo
Hobie Outback

Eagles may soar, but weasels never get sucked into jet air intakes

When it gets closer to the date, I’d love to have you on our new show (Carolina Wild Side) to help get the word out. If we could get a fishing Hero in the studio with you, that’d be even better.

Ben, Thank you and we’ll make that happen!

James, yes I have contacted them several times, Carter has contacted them several times but we just don’t get a response from them… Things started to look good for a bit then… nothin… I am guessing they have a full plate and we are on a back burner… at least thats what I hope… The Charleston Angler on the other hand is always supporting us and makeing sure we get what we need… Do you have any contacts in the lure world that may help us out? I do want to do capts bags. a few lures, t-shirt and/or hat, stickers for the yak etc… I just gotta find companies and stuff who can donate enough for them… Epic Kayaks e-mailed me and they want to help out so we may have some nice stuff for prizes and/or raffles… I’ll keep ya’ll posted.

can you please send me a few flyers or send me an email of the flyers so I can print them out. do you guys know anything about the extreme kayak fishing team from around charlotte NC???they are holding bass tournaments to benefit HOW. They are also working with a conservation group to put the big spiky fish attractors in place on a small lake on the catawba river. I just ran across these guys the other night on the net.
