3/10 report

Went out for a lil today to break in some new line on a couple rods and give the boat a good shake down for next weekend. Fished a small area today but ran through 4dz in alittle over 3 hrs. Nothing to write home about. Big fish about 6/7# and WAY too many short fish. Should be a good area in about a month. Many times got the spaghetti going pretty good on the screen. All shorts came on drs all keepers came on pbs. Saw a little amount of schooling w/ a couple of swirls behind the plug but no takers. Fished in 70-15’ of water. Most action in 40-50’.

This is where all bait was used…lol… said it was small. Went in and made the pretzel and left with an empty tank.

Went yesterday. It was a slow day fishing in 5-22 feet of h2o, but I did get 7 and 1 throwback. All fish were caught upper mid-lake. The big fish of the day was around 7 pounds. Water temp. got up to 57 by afternoon. Almost time to cutbait. Making progress anyway:)

I was fishing blind until after 9:00 when I felt comfortable calling my boat mechanic. I had no power to my console accessories and therefore no fish locator or chart. Turned out it was the circuit breaker at the battery. I had to hit the reset button throughout the day when things went dark. Today, I replaced the breaker with a 20 amp in-line fuse. Problem solved! Perhaps this can help someone out there.

I’m not sure which “information” would be more damaging … the information one could gain by scanning the back of Murraymakers Drivers License or the information he is attempting to cover up … LOLOL

it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish now!!!

Hahahah…its really pretty easy to figure out. Find past posts of where I like to fish in March and you will know. The finger upper right should be the dead give away. It at least makes people dig and research a little versus reading “go and fish here”. There can be alot of info gained by going back and reading old reports.

But like i said there was just tooo many shorts in there for my liking…lol…
Here is a shot that we seen alot. U can see some larger fish in there but the majority seem small, which is what we were catching.

It’s hard to tell that it’s an island with your finger on it. What are all of those beacon looking things all over your map? Doesn’t the insight give you contours? What is the advantage of insight?

We were fishing seahunt0012’s boat. He was able to secure one of those HDS 10’s cabelas had for a crazy steal of 1500$. But it only has a base map which really gives no topo detail. All those beacon things are Sirius weather wind bars overlayed onto the map. They tell direction and how fast the wind is going. Sirius weather will also show approaching storms like a radar when overlayed. Which way they are moving, how big, severity, etc…

I’ll gladly take those shorts on the fly…if I could just figure out where in the heck you were fishing…feel free to elaborate:stuck_out_tongue:

Actually fishing all 3 if you count the Tx within a tx for MSC. Of course 1 of them is just the msc points tx. Should be a great day for a great cause…hope its a good turnout. And hope a couple nice fish…lol…:stuck_out_tongue:

I hope to be upgrading the HDS10 to have more than a basemap and also adding downscan in the next few months just in time for some summertime down rods. If anybody ever sees a good deal on either please let me know.

Thanks,
Seth

$1500 is an awesome deal for the hds 10, still about $1400 more than I can afford.
