I had another great Sunday on the water today with a great crew. Left the marina at 11 am and we were fishing by noon. It was flat calm out with a nice slow swell and no chop at all. When we got to the spot in 70’ we dropped and hooked up on 3 red snapper right away. I think the total snapper count was about six before we moved and even stopped using bait and just fished bare hooks to get to the seabass. Nick had a neat bank sinker with a hook on it that produced lots of seabass. We got a trigger and some fat ringtails for Mike’s fryer and played with the little tunny on spinning gear and called it a day. The ocean was alive everywhere today with birds diving on bait, big turtles, and schools of tunny busting the surface in all directions. Back by 3:30.
We didn’t need to keep any borderline seabass and most were over 15" with big old green heads. All Red Snapper were released to fatten up for our next 48 hour season.
