we caught vermillions, triggerfish, and larger size sea bass. Did 40 knots on the way out. On the way in different ball game. we did the ole 20 knot stroll. Until, I spotted a bigger boat to port. Tucked in behind them and rode their rooster tail all the way back to stono inlet. Thanks to whoever it was in the Grady white or proline boat ahead of us. Made the ole 20 knot stroll a lot better. Tight lines
how was the Stono inlet? is that your typical port of exit/entry? oh and thanks for the report and glad you had a good day!

Yea man it was fun. I run out of several inlets through out the year. Stono, north edisto, south edisto and a few times a year up in Georgetown. The Stono changes a little bit year to year but basically after the last red make a big turn to the north split the two bars and at dead low low tide you have 4.5 feet. There is a channel to the south, slightly north of kiawah but I don’t really trust that one a low tide. On the way in there wasn’t any breakers except by bird key cause it was high tide. Low tide the entire inlet would have looked like a washing machine.
thanks, I have only run it a handful of times in the last several years, but we always turned South in front of Kiawah, so interesting to hear there is a channel to the North as well…good intel…
