I haven’t fished since last MSC tournament and I really needed to get back in the game. Had a late start hoping weather wouldn’t end up as bad as predicted and actually It was a beautiful morning. Got 2 dz of bait and headed straight to Wessinger’s. Fished from 10am-1pm and had a fish hooked up for every single bait but one. All but 4 were keepers, really fat fish! Awesome morning! All of them on FL, PB and corks, 20-40fow, water temp was around 54. All released.

Good Job sounds like y’all really got in them .I fished in Bear Creek this morning. early we were pulling PB FL Corks and had 4 DR we were fishing in 10 ft or less.We could not seem to get out of the 19 inch fish. After we caught several of those we moved to another spot in 30ft and caught a few decent keepers, these fish were suspended at 20ft at the end of a long shallow point.

We initially planned to fish the back of bear but it was a bit to foggy and decide to stay at the mouth and around Wessinger’s and found them right away, like I said on 20-40 fow.

Way to go Jorge! Spoon and I put in at the dam and road up to Bear as well Controlfreak. We wouldn’t have gotten there if it hadn’t been for the trail on my chart. Foggy!! We had a similar day with lots of shorts and few keepers. As a bonus, we also found some perch in 25-30 feet that we jerked up while pulling. Final tally= stripers of 5, 6, and 7 pounds, a 2.5 pound largie, 22 perch, 12 19-20.75 inchers, and an osprey(released at long distance:stuck_out_tongue:).

It was still dark when we made our way there from the dock, but man was it foggy. I was close to the bank while it was foggy but heard several boat running down the middle of Bear and you could not see 100ft from the boat. It makes me nervous when I can hear them running by but cannot see them

That’s just crazy unless you have radar (which I doubt most boats on Lake Murray do). And people wonder why accidents happen.

Fog ran up to Bear very carefully. Nowhere near full throttle until the fog thinned out about halfway up the creek. I did get a little concerned one time when I could hear a boat heading our way and didn’t see it. It was not running that fast and when I finally saw it, it was still a long way off. Guess the fog wasn’t as thick as I thought it was.
Another fun day fishing with Fog. Especially when I was trying to dip a fish for him and grab another rod that went down at the same time!

It was after 8 when we headed up. We had about 3-400 feet of visibility and took it slow… Spoon, we were apparently posting at the same time. Too bad those 2 fish were both a half inch short:imp:

I had a first Sat morning that I forgot to include in the post. As I was putting a line out I had already baited it and had the line in water as I was attaching the PB a fish hit and snatched the line and PB out of my hand the reel was in free spool so you know what happend next needless to say I need to put some line on a reel. And I did not get the fish I guess you could say he got me! Lesson for the day put the reel in gear until you a ready to let it out.

This seems to happen a lot if your on top of a lot of fish. My buddy Seth got a wrap of fishing line caught around a finger TWICE in one day…mono can tighten up pretty quick on a finger… but what we do when putting line out behind the PB is leave the reel in free spool but leave the clicker on. Even if all hell breaks loose and you have to drop what your doing to grab another rod that reel is fine in free spool as long as that clicker is on…

The fog was really thick even at 10am when we went out. I can not imagine dark and foggy with all these bass boats around. Careful there!!
