Monday we had fun and caught some fish, but not many keepers. Trolling shallow, flat lines and planers were key. Didn’t hit herring but hit minnows. We too saw the boat with all the music.
Wed. we hit it again from 6pm to 8 and did really well. They only hit planers. the bigger fish hit in shallower water deeper water brought shorties. Again Shiners were key. Trolling faster improved our odds on short strikes. Also the big boys hit faster moving baits. Biggest keeper was just shy of 25". Several good keepers probably 26 fish total, 6 were solid keepers, came home with one, the biggest.
fishing slowed when a blue center console trolled by us twice very very close. They were trolling with their engine. I feel like it spooked fish cause a solid bite turned off when they arrived. 4 strokes are quiet but are not a substitute for trolling motors…
Great day on the water and wanted some pics but the camera on the boat was dead…but its charged and we will be back when weather improves.
