All the shrimp in 1 cast where i saw them popping. I saw a dark spot I knew wasn’t a rock or grass so I threw the net on it and it was finger mullet. I threw another cast at a big mullet spot and got the big one first cast all that I needed but want some for freezer, 5 more cast and nothing but I did feel some jumbo mullet swim out my net. I would have had better success on jumbo mullet but I have a damaged wally world net. The water was just starting to come in and the water was crystal clear besides a stagnant film on top from sitting still at low tide that was slowly being pushed with the tide. I let a lot of finger mullet fall out the net and noticed a couple small trout like 6 to 8 inchers. Out of the hand full I kept there was a trout still with them. When I grabbed it to release it felt colder than the mullet but they were 100% laying in the mud schooling with the mullet. The shrimp didn’t even move when they hit the bucket and the lower tide stages in the colder part of the night seemed to affect the bait.
Conclusion lots of slow to non moving bait and if you see a school of big mullet pitch something in there.
