MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) -
More than $30,000 worth of electronic equipment was stolen from several boats in Mount Pleasant this past weekend.
On Sunday morning, a police officer responded to the Mount Pleasant Mini Storage on 1005 Von Kolnitz Road.
The officer met with one of several victims who said that when he arrived at the business at 8:30 a.m. he noticed his boat and several other boats were burglarized.
Investigators say they canvassed the boat lot and located 20 potential victims.
The officer reported that after he spoke to several of the victims, he concluded that all the boats that were entered were Yamahas.
Investigators say they were able to watch surveillance video of the scene, but due to the location of the camera and the lights, the video footage was blurry.
A police police report states that the total value of equipment stolen from the boats was $30,300.
The first victim said someone had taken a screen dashboard and Garmin 7.5 GPS from his Yamaha Torch. The second victim reported someone stole his Garmin GPS unit as well as four overhead speakers.
The third victim said someone took two digital gauges, and his wiring harness was cut.
The fourth victim reported the following was missing from his boat: both gauges for his Yamaha 225 4-stroke of center console, his Garmin chart plotter, Faruno Fish Finder depth sounder.
The fifth victim told investigators that someone had taken two digital gauges and a 1 VHF radio.
The sixth victim said the tarp to his boat was damaged, but nothing was stolen
The seventh victim said his Garmin Fish finder chart plotterand a Polling Motor were missing.
