300 blackout scope

First AR build, went with the 300 blackout.I am tired of reading all the scope options and want some real world advice. I plan on using the gun for hog hunting in the swamps and would also like to feel confident in a 100 yard deer shot. I was thinking a magnified red dot for the 20-30 yard hog shots but not sure how they would work out to 100 yards. What you guys using? Or anyone selling something that would work?

I have used a 2X Red Dot scope on my handgun before. No problem hitting a target at 100 yards with it.

Hitting something at 100 yards with a magnified red dot is easy…hitting a particular spot exactly where you want to is not easy, will depend entirely on the magnification used. Especially not with the stress of a kill shot on the line.

If you’re hunting that close and that far away with same weapon, look into a red dot with a flip-to-side magnifier. When you don’t need the magnification, you simply swing it out of the way and use the red dot for close stuff.

OR…you could go for a scope with a 1-6 magnification or something similar, they’re small, lightweight, and can be had fairly cheap.

Not suggesting or pushing Vortex or OpticsPlanet, just first links I found.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I’m not partial to any brand so I’ll check out the links. I’ve seen the flip magnificent red dots on the internet but never seen one in person. I’ll have to check that out.

I have a Leopold 1-4 vx-r with illuminated red dot on my 6.8AR. Covers all the bases your looking for .

Vortex strike eagle. It’s excellent.
