i am willing to bet that it will shoot “longer” than you are capable of being accurate.

Savage rifles are ugly as sin but will shoot tiny groups if the shooter is capable, the two I own are Sub MOA guns. The Ziess on top is a pretty good quality scope for the money. Sounds like a decent combo if you like the cartridge.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Here’s what my Savage (not close to factory) in .300 WSM did to a nanny at 375 yards a couple of days ago. Only thing left on the rifle from Savage is the Accutrigger (but sears have been polished and weight lightened) and the action. Everything else is custom.

What model Savage is it? 10, 11, 16?

I have a Zeiss Diavari 3-12x56 (30 mm tube) on a Sendero 7mm SAUM and it performs year after year. I own several Leupold’s, Simmons, Bauch Lomb, Nikon and Busnell and it is superior to all of them. Brings in plenty of light, never fogs, and is crisp and clear. Used it for over 20 years and have never had a problem. You get what you pay for.
