That one bent a rod for sure. Pound for pound, not many fish fight as hard as jack.

That’s an awesome fish. I’ve only caught one around here and it was small, maybe 10 inches. I’d love to be able to target them reliably around the harbor. I dont hear of many people catching them.

Caught one here at MI last year but was only about half that size. Nice fish.
What happened to the big schools that used to be on the backside of Drum Island and in town Creek?

Good job, Capt. Guess I better dig up my big popping plug, pin fish pattern, and have it rigged and ready. Used to never go out without it this time of year. I’ll BOLO now. (love that NCIS talk…

Nice Fish
Oh how I miss the days getting up at dawn and there not being a breath of air stirring, knowing that this day was going to be a great day for Jacks. Looking off in the distance and seeing that distinct ripple, easing into position, dragging that big popper (striper swiper) across just in front of the school and watching several Jacks that same size try to eat that plug at the same time! Very exciting. This scene also played out many times right after an afternoon thunderstorm, right before dusk. Miss those days!
Use to catch those in the flats…
