32ST Contender

Buddy is looking at a 2011 32ST Contender with twin 300 Yamaha 4 strokes. Whats yalls input. I like the boat. How do yall think it does on gas compared to a 31 Contender with twin 250 hpdi motors? Ride or fish any better?Any info about problems is great! Thanks

Not being “brand” specific, but I prefer 4 strokes over the 2 strokes purely for noise or the lack of.

250 Verados

Yea I agree for sure. Its just time to upgrade from them 03 2 strokes! How you like them Verados?

People give a lot of crap about the Verados but I love them. Extremely quiet, and pretty fast. I can run to the ledge, fish all day and back on about 100 gallons. And that is running 38 knots going in/out. Almost bought a boat with twin hpdi and the top cylinder seized on sea trials. So I am not a fan. But hear tons of people who like them. My thoughts? 4 strokes all day.

What’s the difference in the 32ST vs the 31? Obviously the motors are different and one is 1’ shorter but what does ST stand for in the contender line?

ST is the step version. Faster and more fuel efficient. Same length I am 99% sure they just changed the name.

Go with the st and f300s

Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!

Always Yamaha. Forget hdpi. Get 4 strokes. I have twin 300 hdpi. Great motors, thirsty trolling, louder and picky as hell on clean fuel. They have several internal fuel filters. The high pressure gas fitters can be finicky and expensive to change. Other than being thirsty trolling… I liove them. Although I love how quiet 4 strokes are…1500 hours still going strong…

Ps always Yamaha…for real

The ride in my opinion will be indistinguishable compared to a 31’ with 250’s…what will be different in the cruise speed and fuel burn, superb fishing platform

31’ Contender

The guys in the 32st wear less foul weather gear must be a drier ride than the 31

Go look at the motors in the dry stacks at Shem Creek. Would be a great photo ad for Yamaha. Will NEVER own anything but a yammy

That ST sounds like the better set up to me. And those 300 yamahas are very fuel efficient.

That is a sweet setup! You will love the f300’s. They are super efficient. I’ve left Georgetown and fished way deep past the GT Hole and trolled all day on 80 gallons of fuel. We left in the dark and got back in the dark.

Buy the boat and post up some pictures!!!
