33 Freeman & Clarendon boys! 1-Apr (pics added)

Stared at a confused looking forecast most of Saturday. Chunky called every 20 mins for about 5 hours trying to talk me into it. Looked fishable but knew we would get tossed around a bit plus I had 10 thousand things to do Sunday.

Finally he said if we had a Freeman I bet you would not we wishy washy on this… Wellllll, let me make a quick call to Mr. Billy. It is Saturday at 5pm and I ask Billy if he wants to go fishing tomorrow. We only need you to bring ONE thing. The keys to the boat!

Well in about 30 seconds we had a crew of 6 ready to roll!

Decided to make a late start and avoid the morning slop. Freeman first timers LnS Marine Brianh jumped on board with me, Chunky, Pallet and Billy. I actually heard Brianh call the NOAA hotline to get the weather conditions. 17 knots seas 3 feet. Told him not to worry a bit.

We cleared the Jetties at 8 and Billy pushed the 350s to life. Man those things sound cool. We ran 4100 rpms which loaded as we were was 40-41mph. Brianh and I stood at the helm while everyone else napped through the slop. Needless to say the ride was perfect and I pointed out to Billy the occasional 4 footers that would launch our boat. He says you like it now watch this up to 4600 we went and into the upper 40s in speed. Just like a magic carpet. That thing is nice. Stayed at 4600 until we got to the 226. Wind had picked up and the white caps a bit but we quickly deployed the spread.

Fished from 1500 to 140feet never found any major fish concentration. Found some beautiful rips and some floating debree but nothing with fish stacked under it.

Bout an hour into it a wahoo piles on the bubbler I got from Atlantic Game and Tackle early Sunday morning, (forgot to mention, Jeremy actually met us at the store to sell us ballyhoo while I was in there I had to buy something) I guess I owe him the first wahoo.

Back to fishing: ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!! The wahoo screams the trusty ole 30W to life. Pallet makes quick work of him and Chunky sticks the gaff

Dang Scootin’… Did you forget to tell me that you traded in the Contender for one of those sweet Freemans?

Billy and I talked money and what it would take. I am going to be with my ole girl for a while. She has been good to me, I need to take her fishing.

I am counting on you moving back home and buying the new Freeman 37.

Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!

Good report, as usual. Y’all may have set the bar too high on your first trip…

The thing I love about fishing with Billy is that he is game for anything. We were at the 226 hole thinking that we should have went to the hole. Billy says “let’s go” and he was serious!

It would have been real bad if we hadn’t run out of the adult beverages!

I don’t know of one. According to Billy, the nearest one is in Beaufort. Maybe he was up this way.

The last two trips we have been in the 1.3 range and that is with 700hp. I was pretty impressed.
