36 foot Contender for 55K, why has it not sold?

I have been following this thread for a while. Seems like a LOT of boat for relativly little money. People scared of the twins? Buy it, sell them and put what ever on it. You would still be ahead.

You buy it and sell me the fisharound!

Catch shares and fishing closures.

That is one sweet looking ride. Who would want to re-power. Those engines only have 550 hours.

I agree! But if the motors were the deal breaker seems like you could swap them out and still make it a good deal.

Lucky2draw, all the time, blood, sweat, tears, and money I have poured into the fisharound… What she is worth to me vs what she would bring on the market… It would be depressing. But hey, if you want to come fishing let me know. The bft bite will be strong in the next couple weeks. It gets hard to find a crew in the winter time with duck and deer seasons.

Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!

Somebody told us Wall Street fell but we were so poor we couldn’t tell. Cotton was short and the weeds were tall but Mr. Obama gonna save us all

probably more of an issue getting it financed, the banks don’t want to lend any money on used boats. GE finance owns more boats than probably all the dealers in the US put together

S4G, with only 550 hours on those Yamaha 250 hp 0X66 engines, repower wouldn’t even enter my mind unless there were compression or corrosion issues. Boat runs at:

5500 r.p.m. 48 mph fuel burn 58 gal. per hr.
4500 r.p.m. 38 mph fuel burn 32 gal per hr.
4000 r.p.m. 34 mph fuel burn 28 gal per hr.

These #'s were run with approximately 210 gallons on board

There are not many days when you would need to go more than 40 - 45 MPH so there doesn’t appear to be a NEED for repower. Still, would like to see what the new Yamaha 300HP 4 stroke would do on her.

This boat would have been sold long ago if people thought we’d have the RIGHT to fish without Federal GVT intrusion.

I am very familar with this boat, it is on Topsail island and is owned by my friend Kevin Taylor. Turn key ready, well maintained. There is no known issues with this other than Kevin’s situation changing with it.

I think it is pretty simple why it hasn’t sold. Most people that are looking for $50k large offshore boats probably aren’t the types that want to burn 200 plus gallons heading to the ledge. Really sharp looking boat and a great deal. I am surprised someone down in Florida hasn’t snatched this up. I am sure someone that knows what a great deal this boat is and isn’t scared of carbed engines will snatch this up.
