Looking for a .38 special hammer less revolver 5 shot for my mom. Smith orTaurus. PM if you can help.

I have a S&W 640 and a S&W 642 and love them.

They are fool proof. The 642 is a stainless steel alloy as the 640 is all stanless. Not really fun to shoot but it was not designed as a plinking gun. Would recommend the lightest weight J.H.P. bullet that you can find in a 38 or 38+P.

Nope. Used to be able to find them but getting harder to get just like any other firearm.

I just tried to buy some ammo at Walmart. They didn’t even have a box of 22’s. Same at the PX. I suppose you can say “change has happened”.

After the initial panic subsides, ammo will be available again. Hoarders aren’t doing us any favors. Case in point:the mad dash for .380 ammo about 4 years ago. When it became available again, prices were higher because the retailers and manufacturers knew we would pay more for it.

Looking for the Smith and Wesson Mod 642 as well!! tough to find. Many stores have on order…we will see.

Smiths are tough all around to find. May have something to do with military precedence of need.

There is a stainless/hammerless Ruger SP101 in a .357 caliber at the Money Man in Mount Pleasant. You can use the .38 +p in it.

The misses carries a 642 with laser grip. GREAT little gun. Money Man in Summerville had a used stainless 642 for $450
