3D Printed Parts....and fly reels!

I thought I would share some of the work I have been doing with my 3D printer. Its been extremely useful for parts I cannot buy or parts that are typically expensive, like RAMS mounts. Below is a link to my Craigslist post so you can see what is possible.

Very cool.

Wow! That is very cool!

I switched from Hummingbird to Lowrance before our trip to Charleston last week. I have always had two depth finders, one up front and one at the console and I have used Hummingbird for 20 years. Lowrance implementation of wireless network and poor Hummingbird quality (salt got inside my 700 series) made me switch. The problem though was the new Elite series has a new transducer that combines the Sonar and Structure Scan - called Total Structure scan. And the rep told me I could not put it on my trolling motor due to interference and part design…He was correct about the interference!

However I just turn off the console HDS unit once I get to my spot. Also having the TS transducer in the front works great as I can rotate the foot to get side images in the ■■■■■■■■■■■■ direction (it actually shows the keel and prop of my outboard motor). Lowrance has definitely got it right. I am very pleased with the quality. I could also tell the difference between a oyster bed or round hump!
