3D Printed Steering Locks for Tiller

I can’t believe I haven’t thought of this design until now but I’ve come up with a way to lock my Tohatsu in place while trailering. The friction lever was working to hold the motor in place but it wore out over time and I had to replace it. It’s kind of hard to see them in place you’ll get the idea from the pictures. Each one snaps in place. Starboard first.

That may be your way to financial freedom. Pretty cool.

@DFreedom Not possible. My kids are still at home! :grinning:

That’s pretty slick. It’ll be interesting to see how long it lasts. I guess there are different thicknesses/hardnesses of the printing materials?

@23sailfish The plastic can be annealed to harden it so that it can take the beating. Over time though it will wear out……but I just print another.

Very cool!

Eventually we’ll all have those printers in homes and instead of purchasing stuff off Amazon, we’ll have the option to simply print it. I think that’s going to be somewhat the norm in the next 10-15 years. Imagine what we’ll have in the next 100 years!
