3D Printed T-Nut for SeaArk Cleat

I forgot to post this video of the idea I came up with to attach a sliding cleat to my SeaArk. The T-Nut design will be CNC into aluminum once I get it finalized. Its more a “*****-nut” at the moment to get it to turn and lock without crimping a wire.

In addition I have created a custom panel for switches. I’ll put a TnT switch on this panel and there is room for future switches. The only negative on the Tohatsu so far is that it doesnt have a TnT switch on the end of the throttle like the Yammys. Thus my panel design. Its attached with the T-nut. I love how my ideas are brought to life with open source tools and I can build on one solution to the next!!!

Man, getting fancy with that 3D printer. Looks like fun, may have to look into one of those one day.

KEEP THE IDEAS ROLLING… LOOKS GREAT, VERY IMPRESSIVE!

George you are welcome at my home anytime! However we moved to York in June. Traffic from new middle school and Kingsley pretty much did me in. Country life is more my speed! Lol. Anyway if you dont mind the 30 minute drive please give me a call sometime over the holidays to arrange a visit and I will print something special for you!

Thanks guys! I am working to get the T-nut fabricated. The tooling setup for CNC is making this more expensive than I originally estimated. Nothing is ever easy! LOL

War Eagle make a similar setup for their rail system.

I dont see anything to keep the War Eagle cleat from vibrating loose. Maybe its not an issue but I would think eventually the wing nut would need to be checked/retightened. Looks really solid in the picture though.

Heres the final version of the panel before my trip to the Wando. I am using solid plastic Tnuts to hold the panel. There is good clearance behind the Tnut in the track for the bow circuits ~6mm. There wasnt much tolerance at all to play with but the design software kept me out of trouble allowing the 1/4-20 1.5" SS screw to be offset just right so that it tightens solid w/o the end protruding and shorting the circuits…did I mention I love Fusion 360!!!

I also took the opportunity to move the N2K bus under the panel to better protect the terminators.

Once I get the aluminum version of the Tnut I should be able to move the RAMS mount to the top of the panel. …Next up is a cup holder!!!

Wish me luck…I start my conversation with SeaArk tomorrow. The aluminum versions surprisingly install very easily compared to the plastic ones.
