3rd Annual Redfisville Shoot out RESULTS PIX added

We the wind was a bear but we did fish! The Captains meeting at the Summerville Charleston Angler drew 27 anglers to show up and enjoy some awesome wings and beer provided by the Dog and Duck, Park West and we all enjoyed the evening with some raffles provided by The Charleston Angler, Time Out Sports, Epic Kayaks, and some others that donated items for the raffles. Three more anglers registered early Saturday morning and we were up to 30 anglers fishing.

Fishing started right at 7AM and most people chose to stay with the traditional Redfishville location with a few fishing the Wando and Ashley Rivers. All total approx. 53 Redfish, about 17 stingrays, a few flounder and 6 Speckled Sea Trout were caught between 30 Anglers. The morning started out great with light winds and progressively got worse. It was tough paddling but the fishing was actually better than we thought. I know a few of us tried to throw a fly rod but there were no fish caught OTF for the tourney. On to the rest of the results:

1st Place with a 34 inch Redfish was Barbara Carter

2nd Place was Justin Lost@sea Carter with a 30 redfish

3rd Place was John Geaux Fish Pierce with a 30 Redfish and due to a clerical error on my part I missed this at the awards ceremony and I apologize publically and profusely. Due to that error we had to move on to a 4th place.

And 4th place was James Coleman with a 29 redfish

The HIGHLY coveted and prestigious Splooshers Cup, out Last place finisher went to Jose Rodriguez, who shall be henceforth, well til next years tourney, as Lord Sploosher received with his awesome trophy a free 4-hour charter with KayakFish SC and a pair of Costa Del Mar sunglasses to help him see the fish and learn to catch these Redfish so he can pass on the trophy next year.
All in all among 30 anglers we raised over $1,200 to buy gear and pay for all the needs of our Heroes when they come to fish with us. Id like to Thank all of our Sponsors a

It was great meeting and fishing with everyone.

Ken - No worries on the “clerical error” … I’ll just make sure I don’t have you do my taxes!

A big THANKS to all the sponsors and everyone who donated their time, efforts, money, etc to pull this thing off. Let’s hope this thing gets bigger and bigger every year!

And let us not forget why we’re supporting this cause …

Oh, one more pic…MY prize for the day …

Good job and nice fish! It looks like it might have some “Flipper” battle wounds, or am I just seeing things?

Ken,
I was probably the last to sign-up in Mt.Pleasant Sat AM. I wanted to thank and congratulate you for running this great event. The money raised could not be put to a better use.Congats to the winners on a tough day. I managed three nice trout from the Wando, but no channel bass. Met some nice, helpful people from upstate at Paradise Landing, but the names are in the “gray zone”…sorry.
Retired now, hope to meet up with some of you guys soon.
