We tufted it out and ended up being a slow day with 1 wahoo and 1 blackfin.
Rough and slow down at the Deli. Lost one Dolphin, landed two Wahoo, and had a King sky on the baits.

Left way early from IOP. Wet ride but nothing to bad. 2 nice dolphin in the boat by 7:00. Took a few waves over the bow but was nice how it cleaned the blood off. Managed a nice blackfin and a sail later that morning in 250 ft. Found a nice weed line in 130 and pulled some more nice phins off it. Lost 2 big fish after long fight to pulled hooks…big hoos guessing by the runs. Kinda slow but fun nonetheless. Wish wehad a bigger boat though…
Total 7 dolphin, 6 gaffers. 1 slinger (none over 20 lbs)

Made it to the grounds and turned around with lines out and picked up two wahoo we were in a 20 ft kw
We got a late start. We eased out through Dewees Inlet feeling our way through the narrow pass. We made it to the last set of breakers and finally gave up. We might have been more determined if we hadn’t been bruised up from fishing on friday.

I left out of GT marina a 5am and had a decent ride out but i went north to the Scarp and it was a little snotty and pissed me off cause all the weather reports were saying flat seas all week and that changed fri night. No real big swell just a frustrating wind wave pile up. Caught a 30lb whoo real quick after lines in out of the blue on a minor temp change.180ft Figured the day was gonna be worth it, it wasn’t nothing caught on the troll after that. No weeds rips Nothing.
Did some jigging just to confirm that the black sea bass have been taking steroids all winter. One after another knot heads.
Some donkeys and 4 nice scamp grouper. All returned to the sea awaiting the day i can take something home to eat. Had some divers come in on my spot but i didn’t mind sharing as i was just catch and release fishing anyway. They reported big Scamp grouper all over and Black sea bass so thick that had to push em away in order to see anything. By June they’ll be eating each other.

crap beat out of us. 8 dolphin in 600-1200ft little south of 226. Ride in was good, not so good on ride out. Airborne 28ft southport at 18 knots 2 or 3 times.

“Looks like next weekend will be ok.” I’m done with forecasts over a day or two. They called for this past weekend to be great all week, and then this. As I was leaving MI this morning, I noticed not a puff of wind.

i’m with ya // All of my usually reliable sights all said 5-10knts out of NE switching to SE late and 2-3ft max seas, one even said 1ft 9secs at the Scarp. this was late fri forcast for Sat it was wrong wrong… They all must be getting there crappy data from the same place. OH well it wasn’t realy terrible but like i said it must have been much worse down towards charleston if people turned around. GT Jetty wasn’t even bumby.
