Who else was smart enough to turn around today? 10 miles was enough for me

You went 9 more miles farther than we did! Too snotty for my 23 footer.

38’ ft fountain and 10 miles was plenty enough for her!! The ride back in was nice ran 32 no problem wish the wind was out of a different direction!!!

We called it off last night and slept in this morning.

You did 10 miles better than me. Once I saw someone in a big Contender with trips going the other way I turned around. Went inland bought some blue crabs from a hard working guy and managed 3 slot reds once the tide turned, all released. Pretty happy since I left all the inshore gear at home.

Your boat was gone when we got to the marina. Saw you coming in but we pushed on to the tideline and greenwater. It was not laying down so we made a uturn and headed back to Tolers. Wound up stuffing ourselves at Home Run BBQ.

We went 2 miles past end of jetties and turned around. I have never seen so many boats turning around. Later Len

we ran on out and caught some fish. didn’t think it was that bad till we passed the ledge. kinda bumpy out there.

We turned around too. Glad i wasn’t the only one.

We left too early to figure out how f-ugly it was going to get. Got soaked at the rocks by a freighter wake and had to tack the last 6 miles to ed banks (my cat hates steep 3-4 footers head on!) Put a slinger in the box, a tag in a peanut and released a wahoo which turned into an aj at the boat. Even the ride home required work but at least cleaning fish was a breeze!

I agree. That was the most boats I had ever seen turn around. I hate to do it as we all know how much work goes in to preparation but it was the right call. Looks like next weekend will be ok.

Snotty. We slogged it out. Tough fishing.
Those that turned around in smaller boats made the right call.

I had a late start today. Was wondering where the rest of the fleet was…

Come on guys, it wasn’t that bad…

We fished the Edisto Banks. It was slow. We could only find a BFT and two Mahi. Missed a couple of others. Maybe we should have turned around, too - not. LOL

Made it around 4 miles before we called it quits.

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

Made it to Edisto Banks out of N. Edisto. Snotty, but manageable, with the worst “2 to 3 ft seas” I’ve seen. Picked up two large mahi, with a peanut finding freedom at the last minute. 70.5 was the highest temp we saw. Lots of scattered weed, but didn’t get a knockdown at all around them. Saw about five or six other boats out there, including a center console. We had plenty of water over the bow, so i know what they must have gone through. Should have had the brains to turn round, but I’m a fisherman??!!

Ride home was quicker, but the tailing seas kept you concentrating.

We made it to Edisto Banks, went with friend CaptainTom on a friend of his boat the Bill Fish. We got 6 Dolphins 3 were large and one nice wahoo. Water was rough, saw others about 6 others out there. Rough water was rough on us, have the bruises to show for it. I would have turned and gone home at the jetties but I was just a passenger. I figured we had a secret weapon on board to catch fish, I did something I haven’t done on a boat in 20 years, Got Sick and Chummed for the fish. Ride home was better but one wave came in, and soaked everything and left us with a few cuts and bruises.

We made it out to the Edisto Banks at aprx. 8am. Had a wahoo bite within 10 minutes, but lost him at the boat. We went out to 300-400’ of water and picked up 3 gaffers and 1 slinger dolphin, also missed another wahoo bite. BIggest dolphin was about 30#s.
Warmest water we saw was 72.5
Ride back in was horrible…except for me since I was in the bean bag sleeping.

LSK: you must have been in a different ocean than we were. It was god-awful!! (and pretty darn cool).:imp:

I’m not saying it wasn’t fishable. Weather like that is no fun for me though. I’ll go on better days. No since in burning a kitchen pass on that…
